Ingredients
1 kg wheat flour (fine or coarse)
1/4 cup gram flour
1/4 cup semolina
1 cup warm water
1/4 tsp cardamom powder
1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
1/2 cup cashews and almonds
2.5 cups clarified butter (ghee)
2 cups jaggery
Instructions
- Take a large plate and mix 1 kg wheat flour with 1/4 cup gram flour, 1/4 cup semolina, and 2 tbsp clarified butter. Use your fingers to move and mix the ingredients well.
- Gradually add 1 cup of warm water to form a tight dough. Make small round balls and flatten them into tight discs using a pressing motion, as if making a fist with a single hand.
- Heat 2 cups of clarified butter in a pan and fry these discs until they turn golden brown.
- Let them cool, and you will notice that they become crispy. Grind them in a grinder to make a powder.
- Add 1/4 tsp cardamom powder, 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder, and a 1/2 cup mix of cashews and almonds to the powder.
- In a separate pan, melt 2 cups of clarified butter, add 2 cups of jaggery, and mix well.
- Combine the jaggery-clarified butter mixture with the powder mixture in another pan and mix thoroughly.
- Aiyo, then shape the mixture into round balls, and your healthy churma ladoo or choorma laddoo or churma laddu or wheat-sweet balls are ready to be enjoyed!
